Changing Minds UK have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lead Psychologist – Football Services to join the team. Senior Lead Psychologist – The Role: The Lead for Football Services is a newly created management role within our Performance Services Team. The postholder will work as part of the Senior Leadership Team alongside our Directorate Lead, Lead for Corporate Services, Lead for Professional & Olympic / Paralympic Services and our Lead for Practice. The postholder will be responsible for operational oversight and strategic development of Changing Minds’ Football Services including contract management, line management and supervision of a number of applied psychologists working into a variety of football contracts. As it stands our work into Football Services includes approximately 6-8 professional football contracts across the UK. The Lead for Football Services will be responsible for consolidating existing contracts and designing and delivering a strategy to grow the service into new areas and opportunities. The role can involve some home-based working, but will involve the need to travel to both of our office bases in Warrington and Birmingham, as well as various organisations across the UK according to service need. The role will also involve delivery into one (or more) of our key football contracts. There will be opportunities for virtual working as part of the role (a laptop will be provided), but there will also be a requirement to deliver face-to-face services, dependent on the needs of our clients. Senior Lead Psychologist – Key Responsibilities: – Providing oversight and operational management of the Football Services team including contract management and workforce planning across the football contracts that we currently deliver into – Ensuring that the team’s work into football contracts is evaluated accordingly, and that there are ongoing discussions with key stakeholders to ensure that they are happy with the services provided, addressing any concerns promptly – Oversight of all of the football contracts and regular reporting to the Lead for Performance Services, ensuring that relevant reporting systems (e.g., contract management) are kept up to date – Strategic Planning and Financial forecasting for the football services team and ability to set 3-to-5-year strategic plan to develop new business areas and build growth in football services – Oversight and development of the staff team working into football settings, ensuring high quality practice – To provide appraisals and support personal development planning within the football services team – To lead on the recruitment and selection of staff into the football services team, with support from the lead for Performance Services – Supporting the overall operational management of Performance Services, including regular attendance and contribution to Performance Services Senior Leadership Team meetings – Supporting the Lead for Performance Services and contributions to the overall vision and strategy for Performance Services – To deliver into football contracts taking a lead role and responsibility with key clients or key areas of delivery Senior Lead Psychologist – You: At CMUK Performance Services, we look for staff who are compassionate and empathic, playful, and who enjoy working as part of a team. In addition to these key competencies, we look for the following qualifications and experiences: – Registration with the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist – Postgraduate (i.e. MSc or Doctoral) training in Sport & Exercise, Clinical or other relevant applied psychology (e.g. Organisational or Business Psychology) – Extensive experience of work in a range of performance contexts, including at least one experience of delivering into a professional football setting – Experience of supervising and managing others, empowering them and supporting their development. – Experience of engaging a range of clients and staff, including Technical Directors, Head Coaches and wider support staff – A full UK driving licence We are aware that Clinical and Sport & Exercise psychology as professions are often not representative of the populations we support.
